| Searches |
Location search |
From Konstantin Guericke
If you're on a person's profile, just click the city or country under their name. To find a profile just search for the city or country.
|
| Stored searches - Add keywords to your profile that make it easy for people to find you and for you to search for others |
From Norman Myers
In the Interest section of your profile, type in your skills (without creating a sentence or using brackets etc) and what you're looking for, with each item separated by a comma. Remember
not to use a period at the end of an item (or LinkedIn will look for the item containing a period!). When you are done save it. LinkedIn will turn Interests into searchable links, which will then
allow you to click on them and pull out all those profiles that contain the keyword. Once pulled out, you can use the refine search button to drill down further into the data. |

Do a little Internet sleuthing to get their direct email address. Check:
- Their company web site
- Google. Search for their name in quotes along with 'email'
- ZoomInfo.

Promoting Yourself |
Promote your LinkedIn profile. Put it in your email signature |
Go to My Profile and click on 'View your profile' you'll see your profile page with an address of https://www.linkedin.com/profile? viewProfile=&key=XXXXXXX, where the X's are your member number. There's an even shorter URL for your profile. Use https://www.linkedin.com/e/fpf/XXXXXXX. |

Like playing matchmaker? Want to introduce one contact to another? |
From Konstantin Guericke
Write an email with the mutual introduction and use the LinkedIn profile links from above! - Patrick, meet Josh at : https://www.linkedin.com/profile?
viewProfile=&key=xxxxxx, and vice-versa.

| LinkedIn Software |
LinkedIn Outlook Toolbar |
From Konstantin Guericke
Use it to grab contact info (including addresses, phone numbers, etc.) from the body of emails and have it “magically” be turned into a contact record in your local Outlook address book.
|
LinkedIn Internet Explorer Toolbar |
From Konstantin Guericke
- > Bookmark profiles and searches
- > Highlight a name (or any word) on any Web page. Right-click on the selection. A Menu displays to search your LinkedIn network for the profile of this person (or any person whose profile includes the selected keyword). This works even if you are on LinkedIn, so any word can be a pivot if you have the IE toolbar.
- > Create one-click searches with the IE toolbar. Just bookmark the search and then open up the properties box of the “favorites” file. You can send this link around to friends, and with a single-click, they will execute the same search you ran (though they will, of course, get the results in their network opposed to the results you got in yours).
