Free Ad Guidelines

DallasBlue works because it's easy to produce. Free ads are available for Technology, Internet, Entertainment, and Fun news and sites with web links. We DO NOT publish free ads for home-based or personal ads.

If you don't conform to our ad guidelines, your listing will not be published and you will not be notified. No exceptions. Abuse of our network will result in permanently banning your ads.

General

  • You MUST use the ad submission form. Listings will not be accepted any other way.
  • You must fully complete the form except the fields indicated as optional.
  • Contact info (name, organization, email, phone) will be used for logging and follow-up contact at our discretion. Your email may be used to add you to the DallasBlue list if you are not already on it.
  • Submissions cannot contain any HTML.

Title and Description

  • Write your title and description so that it is clear, informative, and compelling. If it's not new or interesting it won't be of interest to our readers and we will likely not publish it.
  • The Title must be in ALL CAPITAL LETTERS.
  • The Title must contain the linked company or individual name.
  • When a company is listed in the title it should be followed in parentheses by its location, i.e. DALLASBLUE (DALLAS) LAUNCHES TECH NEWSLETTER.
  • Do not use all capital letters for the description.
  • Do not use special or unnecessary punctuation to highlight your submission, such as asterisks or exclamation marks.

Web page (URL)

  • You must have a web page (no email addresses or autoresponders) with the details for your listing. You can get a free web site at Yahoo Geocities and other places.
  • You cannot use a blog for the web page unless you are a DallasBlue columnist who publishes weekly or biweekly.
  • The web page must be static, active for 2 (two) months after submission, and directly linkable without any login or password.
  • Use an appropriate web page for your listing. Do not use the web site home page unless the web site IS the news.

Special listings

  • Events. The title should be the date and time and event name. Separate with a hyphen. Example: MAY 8 5PM - DALLASPOP DIGITAL MUSIC SEMINAR.
  • Permanent or consulting job. The title should be location, company, and job title. Separate with hyphens. Example: DALLAS - RAZORPOP - CTO. The URL should link directly to the job.
  • Seeking permanent or consulting work. The title should be your desired function and name. Separate with a hyphen. Example: PUBLISHER - MARC FREEDMAN. The URL should link to your resume or bio.
  • Cool web site recommendations. The web site can be topical, fun, personal, or business-related. The title should be the name of the web site. The description should tell why it's interesting and can include a credit with your name with text similar to "Submitted by John Smith."

DallasBlue aims for the highest quality publication in a compact format. We reserve the right to choose which entries to publish and when. Depending on our calendar and staff and sponsor commitments, we may publish your entry in our next issue or at some point in the future. DO NOT resubmit your entry unless there is a factual change or the submission was returned to you.

Your sending of a news listing and link gives DallasBlue permission and unlimited license to use the submission in any way DallasBlue chooses. Since news items are submitted by their contributors, DallasBlue does not guarantee the accuracy of the news items it publishes. DallasBlue is not responsible for the content in web sites that we link to. See our Terms of Service.
