Overview

Tribe Blue scholarships are 6 or 12 month awards that provide full Tribe benefits at no cost, including:

• Tribe Meetings (if in Dallas)
• Tribe Phone Meetings
• Tribe Online Tools
• Tribe Social Network for collaboration and support (coming soon)
• DallasBlue Gold Membership with discounts to all DallasBlue events plus free movies and more goodies
• Insider access to DallasBlue promotions

Awardees

• JW Richard of Mandrake Society Radio.  Mandrake is an online media site for the African-American and gay communities in Dallas.  Mr. Richard seeks to create a profitable business that supports himself and worthwhile programs.

What we expect

Scholarship awardees are expected to be among our best members.  While paid members have the leisure of using our services at their own pace, we ask that scholarship members be fully engaged, including but not limited to:

• Participate in weekly in-person or phone meetings
• Do their homework. i.e. document their objectives, commitments, and needs
• Meet business commitments made with the group
• Support other members to the best of their abilities
• Serve as ambassadors for referrals or testimonials
• Promote the Tribe and Blue through their businesses and contacts
• Maintain Tribe principles

What we look for

We have no hard rules for scholarship awards at this time. You can be a programmer seeking to raise $1 million for your genuis Internet idea or an activist saving children in third world countries.

Scholarships are open to:

• Both profit and non-profit businesses
• Ventures in any industry or sector
• Entrepreneurs in Dallas or anywhere in the world, provided they have access to the Internet and can make weekly phone conferences.

We generally seek entrepreneurs and ventures that:

• Have the most potential and are the most unique
• Offer the best synergy with Blue and DallasBlue
• Bring the most to our program and other members
• We can help the most
• Most benefit from our program
• Enrich us with a diversity of experience, knowledge, and ages
• Give back to others
• Are realistic and committed

Applications should be submitted by TBD. If you can't submit a complete application now, you should immediately send a brief introduction with a full application to follow in 1-2 weeks. We can't guarantee that we'll wait for your application.  But we might if we're sufficiently intrigued.

Send an email with any attachments to Tribe Chief Marc Freedman with title "Tribe Scholarship Application" and the following.

• Full contact information
• Create and provide the link to your MyLinkNetwork profile.  Enter your venture info in the Entrepreneur section.
• Your bio.  You may provide the link to your LinkedIn profile if fully contained there.
• An essay of any size (but be concise!) about your venture and why you should be selected.
• Your web site, a business plan, and/or presentation if you have one

Notes

• Virtually all entrepreneurs have limited funds, and so are financially needy.  Therefore need is not an overriding factor. But feel free to give it your best shot.
• Blue reserves the right to award scholarships at any time, and to offer more or less scholarships than announced.
• Blue reserves the right to cancel scholarships if the member is not active and fully engaged or does not maintain our business and ethical standards at our sole discretion.
