Ads are sold via a combined online and live auction. It is possible, though extremely unlikely, that a high online bid may not win the auction.
Online auction
The BlueAuctions.com web site host the online auction. The online auction closes one week or less before the live auction.
This is a Dutch auction, which means everyone pays the same price as the lowest winning bid. If you bid $50 and the lowest bid is $10, you only pay $10.
There is one exception - if you are the high bidder, you must pay the full bid to receive the high bidder bonus of being Featured sponsor on our home and every web page.
When you place a bid please email us so we can give you free promotion in our newsletter every week prior to the bid close. Provide your:
Bidding name
Bidding entity. This would be your company, business, or name.
Bidding entity link. This is the URL to the entity web site or LinkedIn profile, or your email address.
Why is there an online auction?
The online auction gives the convenience and excitement of an auction no matter where you live. The online auction accepts bids from DallasBlue members, partners, friends, and web visitors in Texas and all over the world. You don't have to be at the live event to bid. Typically you have an entire month to place bids.
Why should I bid early or at all if I'm going to be at the live auction?
One of the benefits of the online auction is that we list current high bidders in our weekly newsletter that reaches several thousand readers. If you wait to bid, you won't receive that free promotion!
What do I do if I am one of the high online bidders when the auction ends?
Wait. We will contact you after the live auction to let you know if your online bid was accepted. In the interim you can design your ad. See the Ad Guide. If you are accepted, you must make payment within 2 business days and submit your ad within a week.
How do I ensure I'll win if I'm not going to be at the live auction?
If you are a high online auction bidder, you may email the auction manager with a maximum bid price to be used at the Live auction. Of course we can make no guarantee that you'll win, even with a maximum bid.
Live auction
The live auction is held one or more days after the Online auction ends at the Blue Networking Party. Party attendees bid against each other and the online high bidders to win items.
How does the live auction work?
The auction format depends on the networking party program and format. DallasBlue at its option will run a silent auction, live auction with auctioneer, or both.
How do the online bids figure in the live auction?
The high bids from the online auction are the starting price for the live auction. It's typical that no or few higher bids are submitted at the event and the high online bidders win the full auction.
How do I make payment if I win?
Live auction winner attendees must make payment at the event with cash or credit card. If the winner is from the online auction, the online winner will have two business days to make payment online from the auction web site.
